The Audio-Visual Collective (AVC), has been invited to participate in Ball State University’s Electronic Music Ensemble Summit on April 6th. AVC is a student-driven and faculty-supported ensemble focused on developing live audio-visual performances through technology. Eric Souther, associate professor of new media, and Ryan Olivier, assistant professor of music, co-direct the ensemble with support from the Departments of Integrated New Media Studies and Music of the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts. The ensemble will travel to Ball State to perform with ensembles from Western Michigan University, Wayne State University (Detroit), and Ball State. In addition to the concerts, the programs will participate in a panel on current ensemble practices.
Dora Natella, associate professor of fine Arts, was featured by the National Sculpture Society (NSS) in “Work of NSS Female Sculptors” in their celebration of International Women’s Day.
The IU South Bend Tap and Kick Line performed under the direction of Karen Pajor, adjunct lecturer in theatre & dance, as part of the 17th Annual Mom Son Dance, run by City of South Bend’s Venues Parks & Arts division. The Mom Son Dance was held in the Century Center Great Hall on February 26
Molly Hodge, BFA Theatre (performance), and Dayandra de Miranda Leão, BFA Theatre (performance), are hired thespians in an improv-based dinner theatre, The Dinner Detective. The Dinner Detective is run through Dylan Carey and takes place in a banquet hall of the DoubleTree hotel in downtown South Bend.
