Artur Silva is a Brazilian born artist living and working in Indiana. He received his Masters in Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and currently teaches time-based media and theory at Indiana University South Bend. He has received numerous awards and fellowships including a Pollock-Krasner Grant (NYC), Foundation for Contemporary Art Grant (NYC), and Efroymson Contemporary Art Fellowship among others. He has shown his work at the Ludwig Foundation in Havana, VanAbbe Museum in the Netherlands, Smart Museum at The University of Chicago, Centro Cultural de España in Mexico City and other Institutions. Some of his work has been covered by several publications including The New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and Art in America. Silva is the current recipient of a Christel DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award. He is a scholar in residence at the IUPUI Arts and Humanities Institute.
