Kevin Gillen, senior lecturer in communication studies, has accepted an invitation from Gwynn Mettetal to be a PTR Prep Mentor for UCET for the 2017-2018 academic year. The goal is to get a variety of faculty members represented to provide group discussion and debate from diverse viewpoints. Gillen will represent the Senior Lecturer viewpoint and the “R” in Promotion, Tenure, Reappointment. Gillen is working with Amy Pawlosky of UCET as part of the Course Design Institute (CDI) series this semester. He will be a faculty presenter and participant on a panel to discuss “Communication/Accessibility: Speaking from Experience.” The event is Friday, November 3, from 9:45-11:45 am.
Sean Hottois, assistant professor of new media, has been included in Sightlines, “an ongoing collaborative exhibition between the Century Center and the South Bend Museum of Art featuring large installations of artwork by artists from both within and outside the region,” according to the website. The reception for Sightlines is Friday, September 1, 5-9 pm.
Dora Natella, associate professor of fine arts, has had one of her bronze sculptures, “Lightness of Being.” included in the 84th Annual Competition Exhibition at the National Sculpture Society in Brookgreen Gardens, S.C.
