Proceeding from a political economy perspective, Brett Labbe’s research focuses on international media and political communication, specifically with regards to the intersections between culture, globalization, and the media. He has written extensively on global news flows, news framing, and media industries within the context of globalization. He has also published work in the areas of intercultural communication and agenda setting on social media. He teaches a variety of courses within the Communication Studies Department, including Introduction to Mass Communication, International Media & Globalization and Public Speaking at the undergraduate level, and Media & Society Seminar and Political Communication at the graduate level.
