Exhibition Proposals

The IUSB Art Gallery invites exhibition proposals from artists, art organizations and curators. All proposals are reviewed by an exhibitions committee.

Required Materials

Please include the following in a PDF that is less than 15 MB:

  • Exhibition proposal (1 page or less, please). Within your proposal, please let us know if your proposal is contingent on funding.
  • 15–20 images
  • An identifying list with titles, sizes, dates, and media
  • Resume (or exhibition history if you are applying on behalf of an arts organization)
  • Artist statement related to this body of work
  • Website address (if available)
  • Any other supplemental material you think would be of value

Email your PDF (15 MB or less) to Mark Rospenda, Gallery Director, at mrospen@iu.edu.

Exhibition Spaces

IUSB Art Gallery

  • Approximately 3050 ft2
  • Between 168–232 linear feet of wall space (depending on how many interior walls are utilized)
  • 4 optional repositionable interior walls
  • Variable ceiling height with exposed, hanging ductwork and light tracks
  • Walls are drywall over plywood
  • LED track lighting
  • Wifi available
  • Multiple electrical outlets throughout the space along the walls and in the floor
  • Multiple HD flat screens, media players and projectors are available (please email mrospen@iu.edu with specific equipment questions)
  • Pedestals, shelves, vitrines
  • Gallery is always staffed while exhibitions are open
  • Ceiling height is variable due to suspended ductwork and light tracks. Highest points are 12 feet 4 inches.

Not only are we reviewing proposals for the art gallery, but we are also excited to review proposals for nontraditional art spaces throughout campus including the Northside Lounge (which utilizes a wire hanging system), display cases within Northside Hall, and any other spaces you might think of. We are open to your creative ideas for all spaces!

Please note that exhibiting artwork within public areas of campus outside of the art gallery does include some inherent risk of damage.
