Aspire News for November 2018

Dean's letter

The snow is falling in South Bend and the scent of the Thanksgiving turkey has wafted away as the decorations come out for the next part of the holiday season at the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts. It is also the end of the fall 2018-19 semester and finals will begin shorty. For some of our students, they will conclude their collegiate life with us as they move to graduation. For others, it will be a chance for a much-needed break as they continue their education with us in January.

The year comes to an end with our annual Teddy Bear Concert on December 7th at 7 p.m. we will feature the IU South Bend Kick Line, the African Dance troupe, Jazz Ensemble, and the combined IU South Bend Choral Union and the South Bend Symphonic Choir. An amazing array of talent with be on the stage that night as we conclude with singers and dancers in Disney Dazzle. Admission is a new teddy bear that will be donated to The Center for the Homeless, Real Services, and Healthlinc. These are all not-for-profit organizations in our community. Last year we were able to donate 350 bears to charities in our area and bring smiles to children and many adults. This gesture is our chance as a school to reach out to our community and give back for the generosity that has been shown to us. Consider this your invitation to join us for a concert filled with holiday cheer and giving.
